This cemetery was located alongside a gravel drive behind the town on the north side of the main roadway. 
I copied it, along with several youth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and members of 
the Smoot Family of Utah in the summer of 1981.  Abraham Owen Smoot, co-founder of Brigham Young 
University and pioneer member of the LDS Church, was born and raised on a farm near this cemetery.  Many 
of those resting here are relatives, and his ancestors are believed to be buried here but markers have not 
been discovered.  The cemetery is overgrown, typical Kentucky blackberry briars, weeds and sassafras trees 
sprout in it and unless the community has recently burned it off which they do on occasion, it is almost 
impossible to navigate.  The growth prevented a clear description of the size of the cemetery, 
identification of unmarked sunken graves and a tally of fieldstones marking graves.
