DEED: Hodson to Hodson, 1840 - Owen County, KY Deed of Sale from John B. Hodson to sons William and Andrew transcribed from Owen County, Kentucky Deed Book G, page 226 This indenture made and entered into this 20th day of June 1840 between John B. Hodson of the one part and Andrew J. Hodson and William H. Hodson all of the county of Owen and state of Kentucky of the other part witnesseth the said John B. Hodson for and in consideration of the sum of ten dollars to him in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged and for and in consideration of the good will and affection which he has for the said William H. and Andrew J. Hodson his two sons hath bargained sold and granted unto them a certain tract or parcel of land being the same on which he the said John B. Hodson now lives on the waters of Cedar Creek, Owen County, Kentucky and bounded as follows viz: beginning at three small hickory saplings standing on the north side of Clarks branch thence north 158 poles to two beeches and sugartrees thence east 185 poles crossing Cedar Creek to three sugar trees thence south 20 poles to two ironwood standing on the other bank of Cedar Creek thence down the creek S72 W94 poles to two small sycamores thence across the creek to the mouth of Clarks branch and with the meanders of the same S10 W20 poles, S40 W25 poles, S31 W50 poles, S49 W34 poles, S83 W23 poles to the beginning containing ninety-eight acres one rod and thirty-four poles more or less with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said W.H. and A.J. Hodson their heirs and assigns forever and the said John B. Hodson binds himself his heirs & etc. to forever warrant and defend the right and title of the same against the claim or claims of all and every person claiming the same.
