All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ky/kyfiles.html ***************************************************************************** DEED: Grizzle Heirs, 1902, Pendleton/Campbell/Carter Co., KY & Kingman Co., KS, & Shelby Co., IN Clerk of the County Court Deed Book 53, Page 53 1902-2.Ind This indenture made and entered into this the 1st day of October 1902 by and between the Heirs of John Grizzle, deceased, to wit: Mrs. Frances Grizzle his widow, John Grizzle and Annie M Grizzle his wife, Robert Grizzle and Ida Grizzle his wife, Richard Grizzle and Eliza Grizzle his wife, Harry Grizzle and Sarah Grizzle his wife, and Leonard Grizzle of Carter County Kentucky, Jennie Smith and Charles Smith her husband of Kingman County Kansas, Margie Howerson and her husband Arthur Howerson of Shelby County Indiana, Rebecca Grizzle and William Grizzle her husband, and Belle Grizzle, a single woman of Campbell County, Kentucky, and Alice McKinley and her husband Thomas McKinley of Pendleton County, Kentucky, being all the heirs and parties of interest of the estate of John Grizzle, deceased, as parties of the first part, and C. W. Blackburn of Pendleton County, Kentucky, party of the second part. Witnesseth, that said parties of the first part for and in consideration of one hundred and eighty dollars cash in hand paid us by said Blackburn the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, and $20 to be paid to the grantor Belle Grizzle December 2, 1903 when she ratifies and confirms this sale and transfers by quit-claim deed to the property hereinafter described or releases the lien of record for said $20 thereby ratifying and confirming the same, and the further consideration of $20 to be paid to the grantor Leonard Grizzle, September 30, 1907, when he ratifies and confirms this sale and transfer by quit claim deed to the property hereinafter described, or releases the lien of record for said $20 thereby ratifying and confirming same, this said consideration being $20 per share each of all of which said parties of the first part do hereby bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part, C. W. Blackburn, his heirs and assigns the following described real estate on or near the East Fork of Grassy Creek in Pendleton County, Kentucky, towit: Beginning at a stone NW corner of John Sullivan's 12 acres, thence with John Thornton's 55 acreas N47E110 poles to a stone in E.E. Bartons line on the north side of Rushes Branch and an old line, thence up the branch and with said old line as follows: S71/2 E5 poles to a white oak stump and an elm bush on the north bank of said branch, S38/2 E16 poles to a large sycamore on the south east side of same, S77 E34 poles to 3 buckeye snags about 5 feet high in R.V. Lummis line on the north side of said branch, and a corner of John Sullivan's 17 acres, thence with the same and running along the east-side of a large hollow S5 39' W 41 32/100 poles to an ash and sugar tree in an old line and the sames as follows N44 W18.50 poles to a stone from which a white oak bears S45 1/2 W 25 links, thence S 45 1/2 W47 50/100 poles to the center of Foley Road, thence with the same N55 20' W10 poles to a point in its center from which a stone bears S41 1/2 W 13 links, thence with Sullivan's garden line S 41/2 W16 poles to a stone, the SW corner of said garden and with the same S42/2 E10 poles to a stone, the southeast corner of said garden and in an old line, thence with the same 46/2 W31 poles to a point in a branch the NE corner of Sullivan's 12 acres, thence with the same N45 3/4 @ 60 poles to the beginning containing 42/2 acres, and appurtenances to the same belonging unto said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever, including all right to dower and homestead xxx, with covenant of general warranty, in witness whereof the said Frances Grizzle, John Grizzle and Annie M. Grizzle his wife, Robert Grizzle and Ida Grizzle his wife, Richard Grizzle and Eliza Grizzle his wife, and Leonard Grizzle, a single man, Jennie Smith and Charles Smith her husband, Margie Howenson and Arthur Howenson her husband, Rebecca Grizzle and William Grizzle her husband, Belle Grizzle, single, Alice McKinley and Thomas McKinley her husband, and Harry Grizzle and his wife Sarah J.
