All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ky/kyfiles.html **************************************************************************** DEED: Grizzle & McKernan, 1903, Hamilton Co., OH & Carter Co., & Pendleton Co., KY Pendleton County Kentucky Clerk of the County Court 1903-1.Ind Book 71, Page 502 This Indenture made and entered into this 2nd day of December 1903, between Belle McKernan and William McKernan, her husband of Hamilton County, Ohio and Leonard Grizzle a single man of Carter County, Kentucky of the first part, in consideration of Forty Dollars to them paid and to be paid by said party of the second part, as follows, vix: Twenty Dollars in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and twenty dollars to be paid to the grantor Leonard Grizzle on September 30th 1907, when he ratifies and confirms this sale and transfer by quit claim deed to the said C. W. Blackburn or release the lien of record of record for the said $20.00 thereby ratifying and confirming the same, the said consideration being $20.00 per share for each heirs interest in the real estate hereinafter described does hereby bargain, sell and convey unto said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, the following Real Estate in Pendleton County, Kentucky: All of their right title and interest in and to the following described real estate which their father John Grizzle died, seized and possessed; A tract of land situate on East Fork of Grassy Creek, beginning at a stone N.W. corner of John Sullivans 12 acres, thence N47 E to a white oak on the south side of the Foly road in all 110 poles to a stone on the north side of Rushes Branch in the old Fernold line now E. E. Barton, thence up the branch and with the said old Fernold line S71 1/4 E5 poles to a stone white oak stump and an elm bush on the north bank S37 3/4 E14.40 poles to a stone on the south side S76 3/4 E19.20 poles to a stone in the north edge of the branch, said Barton's and R. V. Lummis corner, thence in the same straight line in all 35.90 poles to a point in said Fernold line from which 3 buckeye snags bears S5 degree 39' W25 links, thence with John Sullivans 17 acreas S5. degr 39 ' W41.32 poles to an ash and sugar tree in an old line, thence with same and with Sullivans land N44 W18.50 poles to a stone from which a white oak bears S44 W25 links, S49 W34.88 poles to a stone, S49 W13 poles to the center of the Foly road, from which a stone bears N49 E25 links, thence with the road N54 1/4 W9.62 poles to a point in said road, from which a walnut bears N43 E23 links, thence with Sullivans garden line S43 W16 poles to a stone the S W corner of the garden, S47 E10 poles to a stone in an old line, the S E corner of the garden, thence with said old line S43 1/2 W31 poles to a point in a branch the N E corner of Sullivans 12 acres from which a stone bears N43 1/2 E50 links, thence with Sullivans 12 acres N45 3/4 W62 poles to the beginning containing 42 1/2 acres. Variation from The old Fernold line 2 1/4 degrees W from the Thorton line 1 degree jW, all of the above being the same land as described in deed book 53 page 53, Pendleton County Clerks office. To have and to hold said premises, together with the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging unto said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever, including all right to dower and homestead exemption, with covenant of general warranty. Vogt, a Notary Public for the County aforesaid, do certify that this deed from Belle McKernan and her husband Wm. McKernan to C. W. Blackburn was this day produced by the parties which was duly acknowledged by the said Wm. McKernan to be his act and deed and consented that the same might be recorded and the contents and effects of the deed being explained to the said Belle McKernan by me, seperate and apart from her husband, she thereupon declared that she did freely and voluntarily execute and deliver the same to be her act and deed and consented that the same might be recorded.
