Ephhiram Osborne - Perry County, Kentucky Revolutionary War Pension Application (EXCERPT) Affidavit, made December 1842. *** SECTION -6- *** EPHRIAM OSBORNE PENSION NUMBER REJECTED NO R 7822 VIRGINIA STATE fo Kentucky, Perry County, September 8-1834, a resident of Harlan County, Kentucky, age 80. states that he entered the service of the U.S. Under Captain Enoch Osborne, Lt., James Ward, Ensign. Enlisted as a volunteer first met at Osburn's fort in Montgaomery C., VA, about April . . . Year . . . served 6 months. They were engaged generally in guarding the fromtiers from the Indians and had frequent scours but no engagements. He was in scouting parties several times after the tories but don't remember well enough to tell the names of the officers, nor describe the trips. He has made application for pension in Perry Co., Kentucky. Micajan Napier and Edmond Jones who formerly resided in Harlan County, now in Perry County, certified to his statements. One Jemimah Smith of Harlan County, age 74 in 1834, states that he is well acquainted with Ephriam Osborne of Harlan County, and that he had a brother Joshua Pennington, who was in the expidition against the Cherokee Indians and understood that they were together in said expedition.
