Independent Herald, Oneida, Scott County, TN -- 3/21/2007
Beulah Mae Cox Gazay, 84, passed away March 14, 2007, at the Scott County 
Hospital in Oneida.

Born in Perry County, Kentucky, March 26, 1922, she was preceded in death by 
her parents, Hollie Lloyd and Cora Dyer Cox; her husband, Louis Edward “Ed” 
Gazay; one son, Michael Edward Gazay; one grandson, Michael Christian Gazay; 
five brothers: Earl, Carl, Mervin, H.B., and Hollie Cox, Jr.; and two sisters: 
Velta Shockey and Carma Shockey.

She was an elder of First Presbyterian Church; and was a loving mother, 
grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Garden Club for more 
than 20 years; Girl Scout Leader for the Huntsville Troops; and was an active 
Member of the Bicentennial Celebration Planning Committee in Scott County. She 
was a servant to her community and church family for many years. She loved her 
flowers and gardening at home and enjoyed reading, painting and landscaping. 

She is survived by three daughters: Sharon Wilson and husband, Jerry, of 
Helenwood, Debbie Terry and husband, Roger, of Hustonville, Ky., and Denise 
Roberts and husband, Greg, of Huntsville; six grandchildren, five great-
grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.

Funeral Service was conducted March 17, at First Presbyterian Church in 
Huntsville with Rev. Martha Ann Fairchild officiating. Music was provided by 
Bert Walker and Carol Reed. Interment followed in Mossop Cemetery in Huntsville.

Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville had charge of arrangements.
