Certificate of Pension issued the 10 of Feb 1825. Pleasant enlisted in Warren Co., N.C. about May 1780, 5th Carolina Regiment. Sarah Childers, wife of Pleasant, applied for benefit of pension in Pike Co., Ky, 28 Oct 1839, stated they were married in Buckingham Co., Vg. 16 Apr 1785, Pleasant died 35 Apr 1839, Pike Co., Ky. Record from Buckingham, Vg.: Pleasant Childress & Sarah Jeffries- no record of register returned of their marriage but that a license issued from the office for the purpose appeared by a bond given on the 30 Mar 1785 signed by Pleasant Childress & John Jeffries. Nathaniel Childress signs affidavat that he is the son of Pleasant & his mother Sarah died 10 Aug 1843. Living children of Pleasant: Lucy, Elizabeth, Sally, Jesse, Pleasant, Flemon, & Nathaniel.
