Benjamin F. “Buster” Bentley, 71, of Virgie, died Saturday, 
Dec. 23, 2006 at his residence.

He was born in Virgie on March 7, 1935, a son of the late 
Ervin and Melster Johnson Bentley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 
two daughters, Diana Bentley and Teresa Carlton.

He was disabled, self-employed and a member of the 
Masons and Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Bentley; three sons, 
Gregory Bentley of Virgie; Jeffery Bentley of Nashville, Tenn. 
and Dan Slone of Okechobee, Fla.; two daughters, Brandy 
Shorter of Gulfport, Miss. and Jessica Levesque of Okechobee, 
Fla.; one brother, Eshmual Bentley of Morehead; one sister, Joy 
Dean Gayheart of Michigan; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26 at the 
Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Jimmy Adkins officiating. Burial will 
follow in the Bentley Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction 
of Lucas and Son Funeral Home, Pikeville.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 24 and Monday, Dec. 25 at the 
funeral home with special services nightly at 7 p.m.
