Janie Elizabeth “Lizzi” Charles, 13, of Richmond, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 26, 2006, 
at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington.

She was born July 26, 1993, in Fayette County.

She was a student at Clark-Moores Middle School where she was a member  
of the school chorus and the art club.

She is survived by her father, Paris Randall Charles of Pikeville; her mother, 
Janie Fortney Charles of Richmond; two brothers, Paris Lee Charles and Harold-Clay 
Kaiser Charles, both of Richmond; her maternal grandparents, Betsy Moberly Fortney 
of Richmond and Wendell Fortney of Waco; and her paternal grandmother, Halligene 
Whisman Cansler of Pikeville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, in the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 
100 Cardinal Drive, with the Rev. Gregg Carr officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. 
Arrangements are under direction of Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 until 9 P.M. Friday at the church.
