Mr. Fields was born April 24, 1942, in Pike County, a son of the late James and Orpha Hunt Fields. He was a retired switchman for CSX Railroad and co-owner of the former Sunny’s Drive-In and Jerry Lee’s Restaurant in Greenup. He was a Kentucky colonel, a member of the Ashland Eagles and loved boating, fishing, camping, motorcycles and traveling to Florida. He is survived by a son, Jerry Fields, and his wife, Trish, of Greenup; a daughter, Sonia McHowell, and her husband, Thomas, of Greenup; and five grandchildren, Kyle Fields, Cassandra Fields, Spencer McHowell, Meaghan McHowell and Madison McHowell. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Pastor James Wells. Burial will be in Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today and an hour before the funeral.
