1928 - 2006

Thomas Griffith, 78, of Fairburn, Ga., formerly of Majestic, 
died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at Fairburn Nursing Home.

He was born in Pike County, Feb. 23, 1928, a son of the 
late James and Ida Griffith.

He was a Army veteran having served in the 101st Airborne 
Screaming Eagles, a retired coal miner and a Mason and was 
of the Presbyterian faith.

He is survived by one son, Thomas Griffith of Kentucky; two daughters, 
Pamela Pluess of Peachtree City, Ga., and Deborah Boatner of Knoxville, 
Tenn.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, in the Chambers 
Funeral Services Chapel, with Johnny Gooslin officiating. Burial will 
follow in the Mounts Family Cemetery, Cedar. DAV rites will be performed 
by the Belfry Chapter #141. Arrangements are under the direction of 
Chambers Funeral Services of Matewan, W.Va.
