She was born in Pikeville Nov. 21, 1934, a daughter of the late Sam and Stella Little McCown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, L.T. McCown; R.E. McCown; I.D. McCown; G.C. McCown; Virgil McCown and Billy Allen McCown. She was a homemaker and a member of the Energyville Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include: Her husband, Ovil Hunt; two sons, Terry Ray Hunt of Kimper and Harold Hunt of Somerset; seven daughters, Reda Bartley of Bowling Fork; Cathy White of Richmond; Theresa Abbott of Wellington; Judy DeBoard of Red Creek; Mabel Stevens of Phelps; Teresa Hunt of Somerset and Anna Hunt of Glasgow; one brother, Ernest “Red” McCown of Pikeville; 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2 at the Energyville Freewill Baptist Church with David Bentley and Roger Parson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hunt Family Cemetery on Little Fork. Arrangements are under the direction of Hall and Son Funeral Home, Pikeville.
