1943 - 2006

Kenneth Kender, 63, of Dade City, Fla., formerly of Mouthcard, 
died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at his residence.

He was born in Pike County, April 21, 1943, a son 
of the late Otho and Hettie Mullins Kender.

He was of the New Testament Church of God in Dade 
City, and retired from the Pike County Board of Education.

He was preceded in death by one son, Chad Kender; 
two brothers, Bobby Kender and Carl Kender; four sisters, 
Ruby Pugh, Helen Taylor, Thelma Steele and Shirley Kenser.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Cloud Kender; two sons, 
Deric Kender of Dade City, and Eric Kender of North Carolina; 
one step-son, Leslie Jenkins of Dade City; one brother, Paul Kinder 
of Abington, Va.; one sister, Merlene Burton of Dade City; and 
seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, in the Bailey 
Funeral Home Chapel with Leon O'Quinn and Danny Cloud officiating. 
Burial will follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big rock, Va. 
Arrangements are under direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Elkhorn City.
