He was born in Floyd County, Sept. 18, 1919, a son of the late Arsno and Martha Hamilton Kiser. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Bethlehem Old Regular Baptist Church where he was assistant moderator for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Newsome Kiser, who died May 29, 1996; and one son, Arthur Kiser, who died in 1942. He is survived by one son, Reed Kiser of Jenkins; two daughters, Belle Tackett of Pikeville and Mary Lou White of Bolivia, N.C.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 25, at Bethlehem Old Regular Baptist Church with Regular Baptist ministers officiating and burial following in the Newsome Branch Cemetery, Penny Road. Arrangements are under direction of J.W. Call & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville. Services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday.
