Ruby Phillips Maynard, 79, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2006 at 
Pikeville Medical Center.

She was born in Pike County on Aug. 21, 1927, a daughter 
of the late Lawrence and Martha Compton Phillips.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Maynard.

She was a homemaker and an Old Regular Baptist at heart.

Survivors include: a son, James Lawrence (Judy) Maynard 
of Dog Fork, Hurricane; two daughters, Debbie Joyce Maynard 
of Johns Creek and Carol Maynard of Pikeville; one brother, 
Augustine Phil (Geraldine) Phillips of Florida; two sisters, 
Linda Jane Shields and Becky Jean Phillips, both of Florida; 
three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27. 
Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery, Pikeville. 
Arrangements are under the direction of Thacker Funeral Home, Pikeville

Visitation will be 6 p.m. — 10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26 at the funeral home.
