Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 9, 1 p.m. at the 
Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Anna Lucille Hicks 
McKenzie, 74, of Paintsville, Ky., who passed away Sunday, 
Nov. 5 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.

Mrs. McKenzie was born March 4, 1932 in Pike County, Ky., 
daughter of the late Central “C.V.” and Ermal Hockett Hicks. 
She was retired from South Central Bell as a telephone operator. 

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl McKenzie; 
one brother, Andrew James McKenzie; and one sister, 
Betty Christine Dickerson.

Surviving are one son, Carl E. McKenzie Jr. of Thealka, Ky.; 
one daughter, Cheryl McKenzie of Paintsville; three brothers, 
Claude Edward Hicks of Destin, Fla., Jerry Dee Hicks of Panama 
City, Fla., and Terry Lee Hicks of Auxier, Ky.; two sisters, 
Peggy Sue Jarrell of Bob White, W.Va., and Sandra Lee Vint 
of Wharton, W.Va.; and two grandchildren.

The service was officiated by Jerry Scott, with burial in the 
Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.

Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston 
Funeral Home of Paintsville.
