Mary Ellen Ray Morningstar, age 73, of Pikeville, passed away Tuesday, 
October 31, 2006 at the Pikeville Medical Center. 

She was a Homemaker. 

She was born in Pike County, Kentucky on March 1, 1933 the daughter of the late 
Clifford and Mary Lena Thompson Ray. 

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Arthur Morningstar 
on April 2, 996 and by one son, J.R. Morningstar. She was also preceded in death by one brother, 
James Ray and three sisters, Maggie Langley, Nelvia Blackburn and Helen Butler. 

She is survived by one son, Jeffery Morningstar of Danville, Ky and one daughter, Pamela 
Morningstar of Joe's Creek and two brothers, Harold Ray of Pikeville and Walter Ray of Destin, 
Florida and one sister, Charlotte Scott of Pikeville. 

She is also survived by two grandchildren, Jennifer Iwasko and Aaron Morningstar and three
great-grandchildren, Olivia Iwasko, Abigail Iwasko and Ava Grace Iwasko. 

Serving as Pallbearers will be: Joe Preston, Steven Ray, Christopher Scott, Aaron Morningstar,
 Patrick Cummins, Johnny Little, Keith Lockhart, Kevin Lockhart, Jordan Charles, Frankie 
Adkins and Ralph Scott.
 
Visitation:  in the J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, after 6p.m. with evening 
services at 7p.m.  

Funeral Service:  1:30p.m., Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel 
with Keith Kasarjian officiating  

Interment:  Ray Family Cemetery - Joe's Creek, Pikeville, Kentucky
