William “Rocky” “Ten Bear” Ratliff, 56, of Lakeland, Fla., died 
Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, after a long and courageous battle 
with cancer.

Rocky was born in Pikeville, Ky., on May 1, 1950. He was a 
U.S. Army veteran, a member of Kathleen Masonic Lodge 
and Florida Frontiersmen Prior to 1840, employed by the 
city of Lakeland as a lab tech and attended Haverhill 
Methodist Church.

He was recently ordained as a minister in Florida.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Evelyn 
Cole Ratliff of Lakeland; parents Jent and Nella Tackett 
Ratliff of Haverhill; son Charlie Nichols of Russell, Ky.; 
daughter Kathy Lee Arrowood and her husband, Roger, 
of Seminole, Fla.; brother Clifton Ratliff of Haverhill; three 
grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services to honor William Ratliff will be at 11 a.m. 
Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, at Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg, 
Ky., by Pastor Bernard Tilley. Burial will be in Cole Family 
Cemetery in Catlettsburg.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday 
at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions 
to the American Cancer Society, 809 S. Florida Ave., 
Lakeland, FL 33801.
