Shirble L. Belcher Sanders, 85, of Elkhorn City, died 
Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006 at Mountain View Health Care.

She was born in Pike County on May 19, 1921, a daughter 
of the late David and Agnus Yarbrough Layne.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Woodrow
 Belcher; her second husband, Clarida Sanders and a son, 
Woodrow Randall Belcher.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Order of Kentucky 
Colonels and Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church.

Survivors include: a son, Rodney Dean Belcher of Elkhorn City; a 
daughter, Barbara Simpkins of Okechobee , Fla.; a stepson, Phillip 
Sanders of Elkhorn City; a brother, Earl Layne of Red Jacket, W.Va.;
 a half-sister, Marie Williams Arnold of Alabama; seven grandchildren 
and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30 at 
the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist 
ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the W.H. Coleman Cemetery. 
Arrangements are under the direction of Lucas and Son Funeral Home, 
Pikeville.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28 at the funeral home 
with special services nightly at 7 p.m.
