Elon O. Smith, age 79, of Pikeville, Kentucky, passed away Friday, 
September 29, 2006, at the Hilton Head, Regional Medical Center, 
Hilton Head, South Carolina. 


She was a homemaker and a member of the Pilgrim Home Old Regular 
Baptist Church at Brushy, Kentucky. 


She was born in Pike County, Kentucky on December 13, 1926, the daughter 
of the late Ferrell and Bessie Francis Allen. 


Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Kelsie Smith, 
in June 1990 and by a son Randall Smith and a daughter Linda Carol Smith. 


She was preceded in death by two brothers George Allen and Donnie Allen 
and by one sister Lois Robinette. 


She is survived by two sons Mitchell Smith his wife Teresa and Johnny Smith 
all of Pikeville and by one daughter Carolyn Hurlburt her husband Bill of Bluffton, 
South Carolina. 


She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Linda Smith of Richmond, Kentucky, 
one sister Hattie Peters of Springfield, Ohio and four grandchildren Kendra Smith, 
Rhonda Yarnell, Starr Smith, and Lisa Smith. 


Survived by two great grandchildren Devan Justice and Megan Roberts. 


Elon O. Smith will be missed by her family, loved ones and many friends.
 
Visitation:  The visitation will be at the funeral home after 6:00 PM Monday 
and at the Pilgrim Home Old Regular Baptist Church, at Brushy, after 
2:00 PM Tuesday.  

Funeral Service:  The funeral will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the church. 
 
Interment:  The burial will follow in the Frances Cemetery at Varney.
