He was a man of great integrity and was faithful to his Lord. His last prayer was answered to go to sleep in Christ. He was born July 18, 1912 in Pike Co., Ohio, the son of George & Minnie Mae (Mead) Thompson. Harold lived in Dayton for most of his life. He was a certified journeyman and tool grinder machinist with NCR. He was a carpet layer for over 50 years and was an avid gardener. He is preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife, Gervan (Copher) Thompson, 2nd wife, June Thompson; son, Stacy James Thompson; sisters, Mary Jenkins & Ruth Hiltibran; and his brother, Carl Thompson. Survivors include his grandchildren, Charles Thompson, Sr., Tina Tootle, & Theresa Leach; 3 great grandchildren; 5 great- great grandchildren; sister, Louise Burkitt; 7 nieces, 6 nephews and their spouses; and numerous other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH with Steve Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Englewood. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 PM until the time of services.
