Born in Pike Co., KY, she was the daughter of Albert and Goldie White. She was a caring wife and loving mother to three daughters, grandmother to five and great grandmother to two. She is survived by her husband, Jack Ward of 61 years who has been by her side and devoted to her care these last difficult years; children, Jackie (Ed) Houdeshell of Newark, Sandra (Terry) of Mt. Gilead, Julie (Scott) Martin of Pickerington; grandchildren, Ward, Emily, Amy, Amanda, and Megan; great grandchildren, Cade and Alexis; sister, Linda (Fred) Purdue of Mt. Carbon, WV; sister-in-law, Dana White of Powellton, WV; brothers, Ochel (Reda) Daniels of Ravenswood, WV, James Daniels of Corryton, TN; a number of nieces and nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents, her brother Albert White, her sister Anna Rae Belcher and brother-in-law Glenn Belcher of Columbus. During her life, her husband and family were most important to her. She loved them and always found ways of showing each one she cared. She was an excellent cook and her special dinners on holidays will be missed and not the same without here. She was a member of Obetz United Methodist Church, who in leiu of flowers, the family suggest contributions be given in memory of Irene. Friends may call at the MYERS-WOODYARD FUNERAL HOME, Groveport, OH, Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where funeral service will be held Wednesday 10 a.m. Interment Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
