Col. Donald Ray (Ret.), 71, of Lexington, died Mon, Oct. 23, 2006 at Central Baptist Hospital. He was born in Pike Co., KY to the late Mack F. and Paulene Hunt Williamson, a retired Colonel of the U.S. Army of 31 years. He received his Bachelors and Masters degree from Eastern Kentucky University, a life member of the Reserve Officers Association, the Masonic Lodge, a Kentucky Colonel, past president of the Mountain Club, founder of Lex-Singles Square Dance Club, a former teacher and principal, a retired employee of the Board of Education, and a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. He is survived by his children Donald H. Williamson, Linda Floyd Boger, Robin N. Paeplow, and their mother, Joan Wade, 2 sisters, Yvonne Wagoman, Bobbie Ramey, his grandchildren, Stephanie Williamson, Jordan Wilson, Danielle Floyd, Emily Floyd, Johanna Paeplow, Catherine Paeplow, a niece Jennifer Follmer and a nephew, Donald Ramey. His funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at the W.R. Milward Mortuary-Southland. Burial with full military honors will follow at Madison County Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to the Eastern Kentucky University Alumni Scholarship Foundation, in his memory.
