Sitting is John Bowen Gillespie, born January 24, 1854 in Tazewell Co., Virginia 
and died on February 27, 1937 in Pike Co., Kentucky. Cause of death was chronic 
Brights. Sarah Jane Ratliff, his wife, was born on January 20, 1855 in Pike Co., 
Kentucky and died on December 10, 1913 in Pike Co., Kentucky. Cause of death was 
consumption. She is buried in the Basil Robinson Cemetery, Greasy Creek, Pike 
Co., Kentucky. Beside Sarah is their son, James Jim Gillespie. 
Back row is Liza, Ida, John, Tom, Mary Jane, and Robert McKenley Ken Gillespie. 

John Bowen Gillespie was the son of William Bowen Gillespie & Nancy Emeline 
McCowan. 

Sarah Jane Ratliff was the daughter of John Ratliff & Nancy Cox.

John and Sarah were my 2nd great grandparents.
