She was born at Yeager, March 15, 1915, a daughter of the late Willie D. and Annie Compton Hopson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Dick Thompson; two sons, William A. Thompson of Fitchburg, Mass., and Ronnie E. Thompson of Buckfield; one daughter, Mary Ann Thompson Slone of Weeksbury; three brothers, David Hopson of Ohio, Edward Hopson and James Hopson, both of Kentucky; two sisters, Lorriane Osborne of Robinson Creek and Nancy Lee Fields of Collins Highway; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Roydon Earl Stuck, 72, of Pikeville, died at 10:55 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, at Pikeville Methodist Hospital. He was born in Berlin, Pa., Aug. 22, 1926, a son of the late Edgar and Annie E. Klink Stuck. He was a retired mechanic, a member of Pikeville United Methodist Church, and a World War II veteran. He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Stuck; two sons, Larry L. Stuck and Evan E. Stuck, both of Belvidere, Ill.; one daughter, Diann L. Bowling of Bowling Fork; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Annie E. He was a retired warehouse employee and a World War II Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Robinson Butler. She was born at Wolf Creek, June 24, 1903, a daughter of the late James Franklin Moses and Melinda Rose Hubbard. She was a homemaker and an active member of the Broadway Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl J. Belcher; and one son, Gordon Belcher. She is survived by two sons, Paul J. Belcher of Dayton and Robert N. He was a retired Baptist minister, having served in several churches in Kentucky and North Carolina, his last being at Olivet Baptist Church in Herndon. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Second Baptist Church in Hopkinsville. He is survived by his wife, Doris A. Grover Adkins, 77, of Fords Branch, died at 5 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at his home, following a long illness. He was born in Pike County, Oct. 20, 1921, a son of the late Elder Grady and Mint Brown Adkins. He was employed as Pike County jailer from 1966 to 1970; worked for First National Bank of Pikeville for 18 years, retiring in 1988; was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Marines from 1941 to 1945 and fighting in the Midway Island wars in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Elizabeth Regular Baptist Church for 50 years and a minister in the Regular Baptist Church for 49 years. He served as moderator of several churches over the years and as moderator of the New Salem Association of Regular Baptist Churches for 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Ratliff Adkins; four sons, Arnold Lee Adkins of Wellington, William Ballard Adkins of Columbus, Ohio, Steve Allard Adkins of Ypsilanti, Mich., Robert Kermit Adkins of Pikeville; four daughters, Gloria Jean Thacker and Mable Eileen Kelley, both of Columbia, Tenn., Sharon Marie Syck and Carolyn LaVerne Dye, both of Pikeville; Three brothers, Hiram Adkins and Warren G. Murphy Company, and was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Burr Layne. Arrangements are under direction of Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry. Special singing will be held Sunday night. Olen Justice, 77, of Pikeville, died at 11:40 a.m. Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at his home. He was born in Pike County, Oct. 27, 1921, a son of the late Bob and Bertha Looney Justice. He was a retired coal miner, formerly employed by Republic Steel for 32 years, a member of United Mine Workers of America, a member of the Lick Creek Holiness Church, and a World War II Army Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by one son, David Lee Justice. He is survived by his wife, Linda Lou Compton Justice; four sons, Danny Jerald Justice of Woodhaven, Mich., Daryl Douglas Justice of Taylor, Mich., Christopher Roland Justice of Okeechobee, Fla., Duston Landon Justice of Pikeville; four daughters, Patricia Ann Diles and Karen Lynn Coffey, both of Okeechobee, Fla., Rebecca Whitney Justice of the home, Teresa Lynn Michael of Bethal; 11 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, in the J.W. Call & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Ray Sayers officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Memorial Park, Pikeville. Arrangements are under direction of J.W. Call & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville. Roydon Earl Stuck, 72, of Pikeville, died at 10:55 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, at Pikeville Methodist Hospital. He was born in Burlin, Pa., Aug. 22, 1926, a son of the late Edgar and Annie E. Klink Stuck. He was a retired mechanic, a member of Pikeville United Methodist Church, and a World War II veteran. He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Stuck; two sons, Larry L. Stuck and Evan E. Stuck, both of Belvadere, Ill.; one daughter, Diann L. Bowling of Bowling Fork; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Annie E. Young Cemetery, with Mark Walz officiating. Entombment will follow in the J.U. Thacker Memorial Mausoleum. Arrangements are under direction of Thacker Memorial Funeral Home of Pikeville. Stella E. Biliter Justice, 81, of Chloe Road, Pikeville, died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, at Pikeville Methodist Hospital. She was born in Pike County, Feb. 20, 1917, a daughter of the late G.C. Biliter and Virgie Charles Biliter May. She was a homemaker and also had worked at Pikeville Methodist Hospital and the Pike County Board of Education, and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Cecil Justice. She is survived by two sons, John C. Justice and Jesse G. Justice, both of Pikeville; two daughters, Joyce A. Justice and Sue Carol Compton, both of Pikeville; six sisters, Hazel Kinney of Pikeville,n Opel Reed of Zebulon, Martha Mullen of Dayton, Ohio, Mary Goff, Mazie Fields, and Dorothy Ratliff, all of Raccoon; six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, in the J.W. Call & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Monroe Jones, Hermon West, Ted Honaker, and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery, East Shelbiana. Arrangements are under direction of J.W. Call & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville. Special services will be held Sunday at 7 p.m.
