Jody Douglas Hopkins, 44, of Henry Clay, Lookout, Ky, died Thursday, Aug 20, 1998, at this home. He was born in Pikeville, July 13 1954, a son of Tom Hopkins of Lookout and the late Zelba (Hall) Hopkins. He was a disabled coal miner formerly employed by Big Bass Coal Company, and was a member of the Pine Grove Old Regular Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Jean (Bartley) Hopkins; one son, Jerry Hopkins of Pikeville; three daughters, Lisa Ann Lin of Morehead, Patty Sue Hopkins of Pikeville, Hanna Joe Ray of Rocky Road, Millard; six brothers, Everal Hopkins of Bowling Fork, Stacy Hopkins of Henry Clay, Thomas Hopkins and Jimmy Hopkins, both of Lookout, Toney Hopkins of Rogersville, Tenn, Jackie Hopkins of Greasy Creek; two sisters, Suzanne Rose of Henry Clay and Janie Faye Bentley of Rockhouse; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug 23, at the Pine Grove Old Regular Baptist Church with Burton Bentley, Archie Price, Curt Carl and others officiating, and burial following in the Bartley Cemetery at Mill Branch, Marrowbone. Arrangements are under the direction of Lucas & Hall Funeral Home of Pikeville.
