Born March 3, 1915 in Pike County, he wa a son of the late Chris and Cynthia (Adkins) Blair. He was a retired miner. Survivors include his wife, Hester (Meade) Blair; three sons, Norman Blair of Wyandotte, MI., James Harmel Blair of Dayton OH., and Billy Oliver Blair of Lincoln Park MI., two daughters, Mrs. Linda Lou Irick and Mrs. Cynthia Ann Payne, both of River Rouge MI., one brother, John Blair of Virgie KY., three sisters,Mrs. Lillian Smith of Sidney, Mrs. Tildie Stiltner of Elkhorn City and Mrs. Lethia Couch of Omar WV., and 14 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. last Tuesday at his home with Primitive Baptist ministers officiating. Burial followed in the Meade Cemetery on Hurricane Creek under the direction of the JW Call and Son Funeral Home. ****************************************************************** Becky Lynn Tackett, 3 months, of Toler Creek died at 4 a.m. Monday, January 4 at the home of her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Tackett. She was born in Pikeville on October 11, 1981, a daughter of Janie Blair Tackett and Gary Gene Tackett; one sister, Levon Kay Tackett; and her maternal grandmother, Vossie Blair of Regina. Funeral services were scheduled to be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 13, 1982, at the Justice Baker Funeral Home chapel with the Regular Baptist ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Tackett Cemetery at Grethel. Arrangements were under the direction of the Justice Baker Funeral Home of Pikeville. ******************************************************************
