He was born in Floyd County, July 22, 1930, a son of the late Samual and Loucinda Little Elswick. He was a carpenter. He was preceded in death by three brothers; five sisters; and one great-grandchild. He is survived by his special companion, Kelsey Little; three sons, Jeffrey Dewayne Elswick of Long Fork, Norman Delano Elswick of Michigan, Gregory Delaine Elswick of Indian Creek; two daughters, Debra Genevieve Burke of Long Fork, Derallia Grey Newsome of Missouri; two sisters, Susanna Williams of Virgie, Addie Belle Tackett of Long Fork; 13 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, in the Hall & Jones Funeral Home Chapel, with Mike Justice, Teddy Honaker, Gary Hampton and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Frank Tackett Cemetery, Long Fork. Arrangements are under direction of Hall & Jones Funeral Home of Virgie. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Friday n the funeral home chapel.
