He was born in Pike County, Jan. 14, 1948, a son of the late Malcolm and Ellen Ward Keene. He was a retired barber and a member of the Upper Grapevine Church of Christ. He is survived by one daughter, Leslie Keene of Oakridge, Tenn.; one brother, Michael Ray Keene of Christiansburg, Va.; and two sisters, Betty Lee Hall of Phyllis, Patricia Kay Mastin of Noblesville, Ind. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, in the J.W. Call & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Willie Abshire officiating. Burial followed in Johnson Memorial Park, Pikeville. Arrangements were under direction of J.W. Call & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville. Pallbearers were Robert Bartley, Larry Woodall, Jerry Adkins, Brett Keene, Joe Anderson, Nathan Mastin, Greg Keene, and Willie Sawyers.
