Carl B. Maynard, 77, of Phelps, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003.

He was born in Pike County, March 30, 1926, a son of the 
late Dave and Virginia Dotson Maynard.

He was a member of Local Union #1511 and a member 
of the Gooslin Bottom Pentecostal Church.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, James Edward 
Maynard; an infant daughter, Lois Maynard; four brothers; 
and four sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Barker Maynard; 
one son, Larry Maynard Sr. of Phelps; one daughter, Joyce 
(Mrs. James) Layne of Church Hill, Tenn.; four grandchildren, 
and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 
in the Gooslin Bottom Pentecostal Church of God with Benny
 Freeman, Ron Chapman, and Alex Fields Jr. officiating. 
Entombment will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens 
Mausoleum, Huddy
. 
Arrangements are under direction of R.S. Jones & Son 
Funeral Home of Phelps.
