Jack Howell, 63, of Right Fork of Island Creek, died Friday, 
Nov. 21, 2003, at Pikeville Methodist Hospital.

He was born in Pike County, Jan. 6, 1940, a son of the late Tandy 
and Doshia Adams Howell.

He was disabled, formerly employed by Trivitts Coal Co., of the 
Old Regular Baptist faith, and a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by two brothers; and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Sophia Young Howell; two sons, Kevin 
Howell of Island Creek, Trampes Howell of Raccoon; one daughter, 
Willena Howell Osborne of Grethel; two sisters, Lou Ramsey and 
Nannie Madden, both of Island Creek; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, in the 
Island Creek Old Regular Baptist Church, with John Paul Hamilton and 
others officiating. Burial will follow in the Howell Family Cemetery, 
Right Fork of Island Creek. Arrangements are under direction of Lucas 
& Hall Funeral Home of Pikeville.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Sunday at the church with special 
services nightly at 7.
