Sammy Fields, 67, of Elkhorn City, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, 
at Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington.

He was born in Pike County, March 31, 1936, a son of the late 
Bill and Violia Fields.

He was a coal miner and a member of Poor Bottom Freewill 
Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by one son, Sammy Ray Fields.

He is survived by his wife, Emogene Little Fields; two sons, 
Ricky Fields of West Virginia and Mike Tony Fields of Elkhorn 
City; one daughter, Melody Jean Fratliff of Ashcamp; one stepson, 
Donnie Michael Cantrell of Elkhorn City; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, in 
the Poor Bottom Freewill Baptist Church with Richard Gibson 
officiating. Burial followed in the family cemetery, Bowling Fork. 
Arrangements were under direction of Bailey Funeral Home of 
Elkhorn City.
