She was born April 16, 1933, in Pike County, Ky., to Ezra and Dixie Blankenship Phillips, who preceded her in death. She married Elza Lee Elam, who survives in Lima. They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on Jan. 13, 2004. Mrs. Elam was a member of Full Gospel Temple of Love Church. She spent her life as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors also include three children, Peggy Lee Elam of Lima, Joe E. (Cecile) Elam of Powder Springs, Georgia, and Jonathon W. (Julie) Elam of Middle Point; two sisters, Martha Blankenship and Anne Ruth Roland, both of Washington; and a brother, Albert Phillips of Florida. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Denton Phillips; and two sisters, Octavia Carpenter and Ella Jane Music. Memorial Services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Full Gospel Temple of Love Church. Pastor Joe Compton will officiate. Arrangements are by Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, Ohio.
