My name is Thelma Renee Ratliff I'm daughter of the late  
Mr. Russell Ratliff of Pikeville kentucky.Mr Ratliff was born 
December 23,1933 to John and Lou Ratliff on Island Creek 
Road. Mr.Ratliff passed away on September 27,1998.

He is survived by his wife Arlene-Holt Ratliff,nine children, 
fourteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Mr.Ratliff 
served in the Marines during the Korean conflict. When he returned
from the war in a effort to support his family he became a proud 
Kentucky coal miner. A  job that eventually aided in his death, as 
he developed the coal miners killer  (black lung). Russell attended 
the Island Creek Holiness Church,And was a wonderful role model.

As the daughter of Russell Ratliff my most precious memories of 
my father are the stories he used to tell of the olden days and of a 
totally different life than we know today. My dad was the greatest 
man I have ever known!   

 I would love for his memory to some how live on. I hope you can 
use some or all of this information to make sure his name is added t
o your archive and the death records.
