Brother Ireland was very patient with his illness and he believed that God would not put more on him than he could bear. Brother Ireland made his confession to the Church on June 8, 1978 and lived in hope of living again. He leaves his wife, Sister Edna Miller LOWE; four sons, John L., Clinton Dale and Dana, all of Hatfield, Ky., and Walter of Naugatuck, W.Va.; two daughters, Zettie Alice, Regina, Ky., and Judy CRIGGER of McAndrews, Ky.; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Sam LOWE of Phyllis, Ky., Amos LOWE of Hardy, Ky., and Frank LOWE of Pikeville, Ky.; and three sisters, Zella MEADE of Williamson Rd., Pikeville, Ky.; Lizzie PARSONS of Pikeville, Ky., and Effa SLOAN of Phyllis, Ky. Deceased are one brother and two sisters. Sleep on Daddy and Grandpa, your silence will be missed. You were a loving person and a rose bud to us all. Sleep on Daddy and in that noble Resurrection day we will meet again. My grace is sufficient, sayeth the Lord. Written by one who loves him, William Kinner Bevins and William Kenneth Lowe. Ireland is buried at Bent Ridge Cemetery, Meta, Pike Co. KY ----------------- Virgie (LOWE) STRATTON She was born October 19, 1891 in Pike County, KY, the daughter of the late William "Bill" and Marilyn (WEST) LOWE. Preceding her in death were brother, John LOWE; sisters, Ellie (LOWE) LOWE and Truley (LOWE) ELKINS; half brother, Willie LOWE; and half sister, Parlee (LOWE) NICKOLS. She married James Hugh STRATTON, who preceded her in death. They had seven children: William "Bill", Mabel, George "Shorty", Edith, Stella "Pearl", John "Johnny", and Joseph. Three preceded her in death: Joe, Edith, and Bill. She had twelve grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren, and six great, great grandchildren. At 105 years old she remembered almost everyone she ever knew. She was a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church, baptized at Salem Church, Goody, KY. She said many times, "I talk to God and Jesus looks after me." She died February 2, 1997 in Michigan. She is now where she wanted to be, beside her Pa and Ma on her beloved Apple Orchard Cemetery by the Old Regular Baptist Church. She was referred to by most of the family as Grannie. In Heaven she is asking Jesus to look after all of us, family and friends. Written by The Family
