Marriage Record of Thomas Evans & Susanna "Susy" Davis - 1822 (Pike County Ky., File Number not known) Know all men by these presents that I Tho's.Evans do hereby constitute and apoint Reubin Gidions my true and lawful atto. in fact for me and in my name to ask and demand licence of the Clerk of Pike County Kentucky also to use my name about the obtaining the same to set my name to such bond as may be needfull in the obtaining the same and also to do all and every thing needful about the obtaining of the s'd. licences to wit that I be licensed to marry Susy Davis hereby Rattifying and confirming whatsoever my said atto. may lawfully do in my name about the premisis In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 7th day of Nov.1822. Sealed with our seals and dated this 18th day of November 1822. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage shortly intended to be had and solemnised between Tho's.Evans and Susy Davis of this County. If there should be no lawfull cause to obstruct said marriage then the above obligation to be void else to remain in full force and virtue in Law. Marriage record for Evans/Taylor I Spencer Adkins Clerk of the Court for the County aforesaid whereas there is a marriage shortly intended to be had and solemnised between the afore said Tho's.Evans and Susy Taylor (sic) of _________ and the necessary _____ has been made in my office that the aforesaid Evans is over twenty one years of age and also he heard her say that she was willing for these license to issue and the necessary security has been given in my office according to Law. To any person authorised to solemnise matrimony.
