Also I will not try to explain the obvious problem of the date of marriage in this record. This is to certify that I Adam Runyon Sen'r. have given my consent that the Clerk of Pike County may grant a licence of Marriage between my son Alexander Runyon and Miss Sarah Starr by her consent a free agent given under my hand this 7th day of July 1827. The condition of the above obligation are such that whereas there is a marriage shortly intended to be held and solemnized between Alexander Runyon and Sarah Star of this County if therefore there shall be no Lawfull cause to obstruct said marriage the above obligation to be void else to remain in full force and virtue.
