Mr. John D. Mims Clerk of the Pike County Court this is to Certify that I am willing for you to grant marriage license for my son William Justice and Almeda Cipple given under my hand this 17 April 1850. Payton Justice Sn. Att. Mitchell Slone Brunwith(?) Justice ----------------------------------------------------------- KNOW ALL men by these Presents that we William Justice (Patons son) and Mitchell Slone are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the sum of L50 to the payment whereof well and truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs etc Jointly and Severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 17 day of April 1850. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas a marriage is shortly intended to be solemnized between the above bound William Justice and Almeda Cipple of this County now shall it always hereafter appear that there is no just cause to obstruct the said Marriage then the above Obligation to be void else to remain in full force and virtue. This shall therefore authorise you to join in matrimony the said William Justice (Patons son) and Miss Almeda Cipple and this Shall warrant you for so doing in Testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my hand as Clerk aforesaid this 17th day of April 1850.
