This marriage record was transcribed from an "original" copy of the record received 
from the Pike County Clerks Office. 

Marriage Record of Jesse Taylor & Frances Lucas
(Jesse Talor & Frankey Lukes, Pike Co.KY., File #30)

Mr Spencer Adkins Clerke of Pike County Kentucky you are requested by these parties to 
grant Licens for the Mariage of Jesse Talor and  Frankey lukes and this is to certify 
that All parties Are concentable to the Same given under our Hands this 26th Day of 
December 1822.

Know all men by these presents that we James Taylor and Christopher Chaffin are heald 
and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the penal sum of fifty pounds 
for the true payment well and truly to be made we bind our selves and each of our 
heirs firmly by these presence sealed with our seals and Dated this 30th Day of 
December  1822.

The condition of the above obligation is such that where as there is a marriage 
shortley intend to be had and solemnised between Jessee Taylor and Frankey Lukes of 
this County if there shoud be no Lawful Cause to obstruct said marriage then the above 
obligation to be void. Else to Remain in full force and Virtue in Law.

Pike County Kentucky State to wit.
These shall licence and permit you to join in marriage according to the Rites and 
Ceremonies of the Church to which you belong Jessee Taylor  and Frankey Lukes and for 
so doing this shall be suficient warrent  given under my hand this 30th Day of 
December 1822.

I Spencer Adkins Clerk of the Court for the County aforesaid whereas there is a 
marriage shortley intended to be had and solemnized between the aforesaid Jessee 
Taylor and Frankey Lukes of this County and the necessary proof has been made in my 
office that said Frankey Lukes is of over twenty one years of age and the necessary 
Certificate has been produced in my office and also the Suficient security has been 
given my office according to Law given under my hand this 30th Day of December 1822.
