This indenture made and entered into this the 29th day of June AD 1903 by and between Willliam A. Morehead, party of the first part and Thomas G. Morehead together with his wife, Jahoda E. Morehead, parties of the Second part, all of said parties of the Co. of Powell and State of KY. Witnesseth: That for and in Considerations as hereinafter set forth. Viz; the said first party retains home or life interest in the real estate herein to be conveyed, also all necessary attention and care with food and Rainment Suitable for the comfort of the first party during his natural life and also four hundred dollars ($400.00) to be paid as follows, $100.00 to be due and payable to Ollie G. Morehead, the first parties granddaughter, three years from the date of this writing and $100.00 to be due and payable in five years from date to be secured by two notes and to bear 6% interest per annum to be paid annually to the said Ollie G. Morehead, these amounts to be paid to her, Ollie G. Morehead in lieu of and for her father, Walter E. Morehead, deceased undivided 1/3 interest in the real estate herein conveyed. Also $200.00 to be paid to D C Morehead for his undivided 1/3 interest in this same real estate, to be paid as follows, $50.00 to be paid cash in hand and one note to be executed for $150.00 payable at the pleasure of the said Second parties here to at any time within four years from date to bear 6% per annum until paid. I have this day bargained and sold and by these presents do sell and convey the following described tract or parcel of land situated in the county of Powell and State of Ky. lying on the waters of Brush Creek and bounded as follows. Viz: Beginning at the South East Corner to West Bend Church yard, thence down Brush Creek as it meanders to a stake in the center of said creek, Corner to the lands of D H Eastin, thence westerly with his line to a stake in the line of original survey between the lands of J H Boone and W A Morehead, thence North with this line to a hickory and sourwood Pointer in Howard Davis line, thence with his line north to the corner of Seynthas Newkerk land, thence with her line East to a stone corner, thence North with her line to intersect the line to lands formerly by W A Morehead to Anthony Good of Color thence with this line South East to the North West corner of West Bend Church yard thence with said church yards line to the beginning containing one hundred and fifty acres, more or less. To have and to hold together with all the appurtances thereunto belonging in fee simple unto the said first party bind himself his heirs and executors to warrant and defend the title thereto against the claim or claims of any and all persons whatsoever. A lien is retained on said lands to secure the payment of the considerations as herein setforth. In witness whereof I have this day subscribed my name and seal day and date first written. It is furthermore understood and agreed to by D C Morehead and Thos G. Morehead that they are to pay the burial and funeral expenses of said first party out of their part of the personality of said first party at his death. Morehead, a single man, and produced the foregoing from himself to Thos G. Morehead which he signed in my presence and acknowledged to be his act and deed. All of which together with this my Certificate is hereby certified to the proper office for record. My commission expires January 12th, 1904. Given under my hand and seal June 29th 1903.
