ANDREW D. MERRILL a corporal of CAPTAIN GREEN V. HALL's Company C of the 24th Regiment of Kentucky Vol was enlisted by Captain Green V. Hall of the 24th Regiment of Kentucky Vol at Camp William on the 24th day of October 1861, to serve three years; he was born in Clark County in the State of Kentucky is 45 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, dark complexion, black eyes, black hair, and by occupation a school teacher. During the last two months said soldier has been unfit for duty 61 days. Station: Nashville Hospital No. 4 Date: June 20th 1862 I certify that I have carefully examined said A.D. Merrill of Captain Green V. Hall's Company, and find him incapable of performing the duties of a soldier because of phthysis _____ (tuberculosis). Signed: JAMES F. Merrill C 24 Kentucky Infantry. Personally came before me a Justice in and for the aforesaid County and State, Lineaford Merrill 59 years of age, Furnace, Estill Co., Kentucky, person of lawful age, who, being duly sworn, declare in relation to the aforesaid case as follows: the first affidavit I made stating that my husband died on the 21st day of May, AD, 1880 is a correct statement and the dates I given in my last affidavit was not correct but the mistake my own the reason I now remember the exact date my husband death is by a card that one of my sons has that was written him to come home just a few days before my husband died. And I still remain the widow of the said husband and I had by my said husband two children now living that was under the age of 16 years at the death of my said husband. ANDREW N. MERRILL was borned Sept the 9th 1867. ANNIE E. MERRILL borned July 26, 1870. I was not previously married until I married the aforesaid Andrew D. Merrill nor my husband was not previously married.
