All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ky/kyfiles.html ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Bonnie Cox Kofsky bkofsky@cox.net February 19, 2011, 1:30 pm Written: October 10, 1853 Recorded: November 26, 1853 Pulaski County, Kentucky Deed, Book 16, Pages 101, 102 and 103. “Witnesseth, that the said Prudence Cox for and in consideration 135 dollars, yet due & unpaid, hath granted bargained and sold convey & confirm unto the said John Penington his heirs and asigned forever; a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in Pulaski County, on the waters of White Oak Creek, containing thirty seven acres more or less. It being a part of a 104 acre tract deeded from H.J. Pierce to Prudence Cox; bounded as follows: (towit) Beginning at a stake at the conditional corner on the Road, running S60 W45 poles to a Rock thence N10, W132 poles to a Rock on Burtons line thence N60 E45 poles to a Stone on Burtons line, thence S10 E132 poles to the Beginning. In separate entry on the same date, she deeded as follows (about 13 acres) “Witnesseth, that the said Prudence Cox for and in consideration of seventy dollars, in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, & sold, convey & confirm unto the said John Penington, his heirs and assigns forever, two sevenths & one sixth part of another seventh part of a certain tract of land, on which the said prudence Cox now lives. The tract containing about 67 acres more or less. The said Prudence Cox is to have the above named interest shares during her natural life to cultivate & use as she pleases and at her death to come unto the hands of the said John Penington. Whereupon said deed of Conveyance together with this certificate hath been duly admitted to record in my office. Given under my hand this 26th day of November AD 1853. Att. J. D.
