This Indenture made this fifteenth day of October in the year of our one thousand eight 
hundred and twenty five between John Singleton and Elizabeth his wife of the one part and 
Thomas Stogsdill of the other part witnesseth that John Singleton and Elizabeth his wife 
for and in consideration of the Sum of one hundred and fifty Dollars, lawful money to them 
in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath bargained granted sold 
alienated enfeoffe and confirmed unto Thomas Stogsdill his heirs Executors Administrators 
and assignes forever all that tract or parcel of land lying and being situate in the 
Commonwealth of Kentucky in Pulaski County on Buck creek. Beginning on a Post Oak Shadrick 
Herrin North corner running N20 E70 poles to an Elm N50 E62 poles to a Cedar black Oak and 
pine thence N85 E160 poles to a Hickory and two millhouses on a conditional line thence S21 
W102 poles to two post Oakes thence S80 W200 poles to a conditional line, thence up the 
said line N40 poles to the Beginning, containing one hundred acres be the same more or 
less, Together with all woods, underwoods, waters mine mineral and all stone and Quarries 
of Stone, To have and To hold in fee simple all and singular the above mentioned premises 
and every part and parcel thereof , it being a tract of land that was granted to John 
Singleton assignes of John Warson who was assignes of William Hargis by a Patent bearing 
date the 8th day of October 1825 and the said John Singleton and Elizabeth his wife for 
themselves their Heirs Executors and assigns doth Covenant and agree with Thomas Stogsdill 
his heirs Executors Administrators and assigns that they the same John Singleton and 
Elizabeth his wife their heirs Executors Administrators and assigns, Shall and will from 
time to time and at all times forever warrant and defend the above mentioned premises to 
the above named Thomas Stogsdill his heirs, Executors & Administrators and assigns from and 
against all rights Setter claims or demands whatsoever by from or under them their heirs 
Executors & Administrators or assigns or any of them. In witness where of the said John 
Singleton and Elizabeth his wife hath hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the 
day and year first above written.
