Florence Godsey, 82, R. 16 Box 182, died at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday at
Hospitality House, Bedford, after a brief illness.

Born in Somerset, Ky., she was the daughter of Jerry and Frances (Stigall)
Ryan.  She married Lloyd Godsey on July 14, 1935, and he died May 25, 1984.

She was a homemaker and attended Dive Christian Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Jeannie Lee of Bedford;  one son, Robert Godsey
of Bedford;  three sisters:  Mae Neal, Geneva Lawson and Frona Ray, all of
Bedford;  two brothers:  Russell Ryan of Bedford and Monroe Ryan of
Indianapolis;  11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons:  Terry D. and
James Godsey;  two brothers:  John Wesley Ryan and Joe Ryan;  one sister,
Vida Smoot, and one great-grandson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary, Bedford,
with Johnny Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery, Bedford.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
