She died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Jan. 8, 1916, in Plato, she was the daughter of the late G.L. and Mattie Evans Lawrence. She was the widow of James C. Lewis. She was a farmer and a member of Turnersville Christian Church. Survivors include her daughter, Renita Hampton of Stanford; a brother, Donald Lawrence of Nicholasville; three sisters, Retta Gooch of Stanford and Ruby Lane and Omega Smith, both of Indianapolis; a grand- son; and a great-granddaughter. Visitation is 4:40-8:30 p.m. today at Spurlin Funeral Home. Memorials may go to Gideons International and the American Heart Association.
