Born March 2, 1941, in Danville, he was the son of the late James and Lula Etta Wilson Phillips. He was retired from the Local 181 Operating Engineers and was an avid boater and motorcyclist. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Ping Keith Phillips; three daughters, Debbie Johnson of Junction City, Kathy Maddox of Moreland, and Lisa Moore of Somerset; three sons, Richard "Butch" Phillips of Stanford, Raymond M. Phillips Jr. of Bryantsville, and Carey Dale Keith of Science Hill; two brothers, John Phillips of Danville, and Herbert Phillips of Alum Springs; a sister, Sue Belle Mullins of Chevy Chase, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral Home. Services will be in Somerset; arrangements are incomplete.
