McAlister - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - From Jacqueline Lee Zortman, : "My gg-grandparents were John S. Lee and Jemima H. Hudson of Pulaski County, KY. In documenting his Civil War records for the National Society of Daughters of the Union 1861-1865, I found sworn legal documents stating that they were married in Pulaski Co, KY on April 20, 1852. This is attested to by many different family members, including John's father, Stephen A. Lee. In John's pension file, the government notes that the "marriage was provided by records of Pulaski Co. KY." They were married at the home of Daniel Hudson in Pulaski Co, KY by Samuel Dogan, Minister of the Gospel. Jemima was the daughter of Daniel Hudson and Mary "Polly" Luster. Both Jemima and John Lee died quite young and left my great-grandfather and his brother orphans, so Stephen Lee, their grandfather, had to provide a great deal of documentation in order to obtain John's Civil War pension to help care for the boys."
