Olivet, Robertson County, Kentucky. Thursday, 29 March 1973. Mrs. Flossie Whaley Barnett, aged 82, widow of Luther Barnett, Robertson County farmer and landowner, died Thursday, March 22, at 3 p.m. at the Nicholas County Nursing Home. Her funeral was held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Piqua Christian Church by the Rev. Bob Montgomery of Morning View, Ky., assisted by the Rev. Paul Mullikin of the Piqua Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Barnett, whose late husband died in 1969, was born August 27, 1890, a daughter of the late John Thomas and Hannah Gifford Whaley. She and Mr. Barnett became the parents of seven children, one of whom, Virginia, died in 1930. The others are Hugh Barnett, Robertson County, Jennings Barnett, of Oxford, Ohio, the Rev. Myron Barnett of Hillsboro, Ky., James E. Barnett of Harrisburg, Pa., Miss Alma Barnett who lives with her mother, and Mrs. Viola Weible of St. Louis. Also she leaves 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and one half-brother, Paul Berry of Cynthiana. Arrangements were under the direction of the Kain and Kabler Funeral Home, Mt. Olivet.
