PERSONAL NEWS Vic Brown has a position in the dispatcher's office at Danville. - Wade Ballard is spending a few days with his brother G. Matt. - Mr. H. M. Holtzclaw has moved his family to Preachersville. - Mrs. R. B. Mullins has about recovered from a several day's illness. - Mrs. Fanny Sowder who has been very sick for several days is but little better. - Mrs. G. M. Ballard was in Livingston Monday visiting her brother G. D. Cook. - W. I. Dooly, the hustling merchant from Withers, was in town on Wednesday. - C. A. Davis and E. J. Leihlieter the L & N Brakemen, are at home this week hunting. - Miss Annie Griffin, from Jellico spent this week with her cousin, Miss Bessie Mullins. - Mrs. Cleo Brown and Miss Risse Williams spent three days in Louisville shopping. - Mrs. Sue Butner now has charge of all of the old Joplin hotel building and will run a boarding house. - Mrs. Vic Brown passed through yesterday to Level Green to visit Mr. Brown's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Brown. - Born to the wife of Roy L. Britton a fine boy. The mother who was Miss Beulah Smith, and babe are both doing well. - Mr. John French has bought the residence of Frank Mullins in the White addition and will soon become a citizen of our town. -- J. M. Laswell, one of Rockcastle's best young men, was over from Orlando yesterday and reports that the bridge over Roundstone almost completed. - S. B. Ramsey has moved back to his property in the West end and Mrs. Annie Shumate has moved into Mr. Ramsey's property on Main Street that was just vacated by him. (Mr. Ramsey 1868 - 1916 is the deceased brother of my Grandmother Ellen Ramsey Wolf Evans 1866 - 1957.) -- Mrs. S. L. Whitehead and daughter, Miss Ruby, who has been with Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Williams a week, are spending a week with Mrs. Whitehead's brother George Fish at Buckeye. BRODHEAD NEWS C. C. Cable will arrive home about Dec. 16th from Cuba where he has been employed as an erecting engineer with the Snare & Treist Company.-- Dr. W. F. Carter has returned from a week's visit to his sister in Shelbyville.-Miss Mary Carpenter, of Perryville, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hutcheson. - M. C. Albright and L. E. Testerman were in Mt Vernon Monday on business. - Rev. C. C. Wilson attended the Fifth Sunday meeting in the Eastern part of the county. - Rev. A. J. Pike is some better at this writing. - Grider Barnett left Tuesday morning foe New Mexico to install an exchange for the Home Telephone Company. - Quite a crowd from here will attend the play at Mt Vernon tonight. - Miss Cora Sigmon has returned from a two weeks visit to relatives and friends at East Bernstadt, Corbin and Jellico. - Mrs. J. Thos. Cherry has returned from a week's visit to her niece, Mrs. R. H. Batson at Lancaster. - Mrs. C. C. Wilson's mother, from Lincoln County, has returned home after a three days visit at this place. - The box supper at the opera house last Saturday was largely attended and well patronized. - John D. Pike came up from Lebanon Junction and spent Sunday with homefolks. - O. A. Frith was in the Bee Link country bird hunting Thanksgiving. - C. H. Frith and U. B. Cass are spending this week with W. H. Brown in the Quail neighborhood. - The educational meeting was a great hit in Brodhead and much good we hope will come from the effort. - A large crowd attended the candy pulling at Frank Brook's last Friday night. All present had a nice time. - Brodhead is to have a large canning factory in the near future.
