Davis & Company Mt Vernon. Dr Clark Brodhead; Hagan Bros, Livingston W.H. Cox to who we desire to devote a small bit of our time and attention came to this county from the sate of Pennsylvania just after the close of the civil war. A short time after coming here he became acquanted with Miss Matilda Jones to whom he was married in 1870, and from that day until now we can safely say without hesitation whatever that they hae been the most devoted couple and have led almost as perfect a christian life as any two we have ever known. When first married they located near Hopewell church on Skaggs Creek. Mr Cox earning a livelyhood by farming and by working at his trade wagon making. To them were born six children four boys Will, Rob, Ed and Claud and two girls Gracie and Nettie, the latter who ded forur years ago. Mr Cox lived in teh country until fifteen years ago when he decided to come to twon and devote his entire attention to his trade and also to give to his children the very bes t advantages possible and this he has done and done successfuly. W hen we speak of Mr Cox as a "wagon maker' we do not refer to him as a man wh can dimply throw a wagon togehter which well run for a short time than come all to pieces, but on the other hand the wagons which he manufactures are noted for thier easy running, lightness and untold strenght. It is the pride of every wagoner to secure for himself before taking a contract of hauling a wogon made by W.H. Cos, and this ehen done insures him the fact that he will not be compelled to take his wagon in for repairs before the season closes.
